For more than 40 years, Bilfinger Salamis has been supporting operators of oil platforms, gas plants and wind turbines throughout Northwest Europe. Today, the company, which is headquartered in Aberdeen, is among the leading providers of services along the entire lifecycle of such facilities. Most recent order: A three-year contract with Statoil for coating-related work at the Sheringham Shoal offshore wind park.

Ryan Clegg is a scaffolder at Bilfinger Salamis and represents the interests of employees: “Through the employee representation that was developed last year, a direct line of communication with company management is now possible. I use this committee to address the current issues and concerns facing my project team and to provide feedback”, he says. “This approach allows many of the problems brought up by the employee representatives to be solved through mutual agreement. Talking to each other about such issues is extremely important. The condition for this is of course that management is also willing to consider the interests of employees.”
